June Blooms

The bees disagree with me, and prefer the yellow Sweet Clover over the purple Alfalfa flowers.

What's Blooming in the Backyard
Staghorn Sumac – smoking the bees with sumac berries is supposed to knock down mites.
'Magic Carpet' Spirea
Gray Santolina
Tufted Evening Primrose – where are my hummingmoths?!?
Catmint
Red Valerian
Salvia 'Rose Queen'
'Oranges & Lemons' Gaillardia
'Arizona Sun' Gaillardia

Stars of Persia (which usually bloom earlier, with the peonies), Coral Bells and Sedum Acre are a harmonious combination.

Common Chives
Biokovo Cranesbill
Reiter Thyme – thymol is another miticide
Common Thyme
Hairy Poppy
Himalayan Fleece Flower 'Border Jewel'
Feather Reed Grass 'Karl Foerster'

Elsewhere in the 'hood
Linden Trees
Western Catalpa – the likely source of the smell of Sweet-Tarts
The ubiquitous pairing of salvia and yarrow.
Shasta Daisy
Kniphofia
Larkspur – such a fabulous shade of blue, I've got to find a place for this in the Backyard.
