The lavender is blooming a little late this year, most likely because it's been so dry. The timing is good, though, because the June Gloom that most gardeners dread didn't happen this year. Our garden had a decent June, with extra flowers from the peonies and the funky yellow irises the previous homeowners planted. But July has become a period of dearth and this lavender is providing much needed nectar.
